Summary

The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for the manufacturing plant’s automated systems. This technician will be the “go to person” to assist in troubleshooting of automated equipment. Engineering of existing/new systems will be required in this role. Automation Maintenance Technicians will also assume the responsibilities of a maintenance technician when required. Continuous improvement of machinery or production process will also be a main focus.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshooting of industrial automated systems.
• Modify or create new controls in automated control systems.
• Ensure machine uptime by swiftly acting upon maintenance calls.
• Install new equipment/upgrades to existing equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Communicate completion of work to equipment owners.
• Participate in recording work in our CMMS system.
• Responsible for complying with environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Thorough understanding of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems as they relate to heavy industrial equipment.
• Occasional overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong mechanical amplitude.
• AB SLC 500 experience.
• Siemens Simatic S7 experience.
• Must be safety conscious and believe that safety is a core value.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agencies directives.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with cross-function teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English: Reading, writing, communicating

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in relevant technical field (Mechatronics, Automation, METS, etc.)
• At least 2 years of modifying controls in a manufacturing environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Starting pay ranges from $33.69- $40.79 based on experience, education and skill level.
